Advice please…

How do you address when you feel like you’re not being listened to when family and friends don’t listen to what you tell them??? I don’t want to cause an argument but i.e family member wanted to hold, I passed baby over and said to keep rock to sleep they don’t listen and baby woke up and I had to start over. I am struggling with addressing it and worried it’s going to come to a head and create a rift. I feel underestimated and ignored as a mom and people want to do what they want.

I am a horrible person (🤣🤣) but when something like that happens I don't hold my baby straight away, I make the person realise what they have done and even suggest they now try to get him to sleep.

I don’t know if it’s just my face or because people already know who I am, but if I’m even looking like I want my baby back, or I tell them something, they listen😩 You gotta be firm and if you’re not comfortable, you can even “joke” around and suggest whatever you want them to do

Best advice I can give you is to treat them like children. If you tell your mom not to kiss the baby for example, and she does anyway then you immediately take the baby away from her and tell her she isn't allowed to hold YOUR baby until she can follow YOUR rules. Actions have consequences and bad behavior equals punishment. If a child throws a toy after you tell them not to, then they get the toy privileges taken away. Same concept. There will be push back of course, people who don't respect you always have a problem with boundaries. Stand your ground and make it clear, when it comes to your baby what you say goes. Period.

Don't ever be afraid to stand up for what is right for your baby. It's not fair u had to start rocking baby again. Just say I need to put baby to sleep she is tired when she is awake you can hold her. If you just let people treat u and baby this way it will get worse and u will feel bad. Its so important to be firm its your baby. I did feel like this we had a lot of family around but setting the boundaries helped

@Joana I did this but they pass back to me or partner
