Help please 😢

I need some help to know if this is normal please My baby is 3 weeks, if she doesn’t have a boob in her mouth she’s crying. There is absolutely nothing that stops her crying. She fall asleep with boob in her mouth, anything outwith that is just constant crying. Won’t take a dummy. Holding her - crying. Rocking her - crying. Play mat - crying. Bouncy chair - crying. Moses basket - crying. Bath - crying. Everyone keeps making comments about “aw at that age all they do is sleep” “aw this is the easy stage” but I feel like all she does is cry. Which results in me either feeling stressed or crying as well. I can’t take any photos of her for memories or to send family because all she’s doing is crying all the time. I tried to introduce a bottle - as long as she’s drinking that she’s fine but as soon as it’s finished starts crying. I don’t think it’s normal but my husband doesn’t seem to think it’s an issue? He says to everyone aw she’s just in a grump today but it’s not true she’s like that all the time. I don’t want people round, I don’t want to go out, I don’t want to breastfeed anymore but I don’t want her to be unhappy or ill. I feel absolutely awful. I feel in a bad mood all day every day and am crying everyday. Anyone messaging me asking how it’s going or can they come round I’m either ignoring because it’s upsetting me or saying no they can’t and it’s meaning that I’m isolating myself if possible

Maybe she’s gassy ? I find that my baby cries a lot or be fussy when she has gas she can’t pass

This is so hard!! Colic often starts between 2-3 weeks old so yes they can be lovely and peaceful but they can also cry for hours. Good resource for colic https://iconcope.org/ However if she's crying all the time I'd go see your GP to make sure it's not something that can be treated. Best of luck, it's really hard to have your baby cry so much but it will get better, hold on in there and make sure to get help if you can.

That sounds really tough… could you maybe speak to the health visitor or GP about it? Maybe you could ask them to have a look in her mouth just in case there’s a reason for her needing the boob or bottle to suck on. Don’t feel like you have to have people around if it’s going to make you feel worse, you can tell them the truth that she is very unsettled and until she stops you need to focus on being there for her so they might back off a little. I hope you find some relief!

I’m in the same boat I was just breast feeding her and it was like she wasn’t getting enough even though my boobs constantly pour out milk it made no sense but for the last week I’ve introduced formula as I have a 3 and a 2 year old so to be able to give them attention when I need to put baby down I give her 3-4oz of formula after being on the boob anywhere up to 2 hours before she still drinks all that bottle then she finally settles, so I would deffo try upping the bottle of milk you give her see if it helps and make sure she winds and keep her up right for 30 mins after hopefully it helps. Hang in there it’s still early days but you’ve got this 💪🏼

My son was tongue tied and had CMPA and he cried constantly until we got both sorted. Hope GP can give you some answers and help xxx
