She finally arrived!

Born on October 3rd at 13:52 at 41 weeks and 1 day, weighing 7lbs 3oz, everyone meet Astrid Jaine 💞 From going into the hospital for a scan and check up, having contractions for 18 hours, there was no progress in terms of the labour, they realised she was in trouble and needed her. I was then rushed for a category 1 emergency Caesarian. The hospital acted so fast it was all such a blur which I can’t get my head around still and having that many hospital staff rush around you is terrifying. The reason being the cord was wrapped around her neck. But, she is here and she is safe! And I can’t thank the staff at the hospital enough for dealing with this terrifying part of my life with such haste, professionalism, care and respect. I Have the most respect in the world for those that have had c sections, it is most certainly NOT the easy way out. Also, morphine is great 😂🫡

Aww what a cutie, congratulations 🥹🩷 hope you’re both doing well. I had an emergency c section too, it all happened so fast and it was such a scary experience, I went from waiting in hospital to be induced to being rushed into a bright theatre full of surgeons, having people read a long list of risks and signing a consent form. My partner just about made it in time, 5 mins before they got the baby out. It was all handled so quickly and professionally by the hospital staff, I will forever be grateful. I brought in a big hamper full of snacks/coffee/tea and a thank you card for them the next day xx

oh she is gorgeous and i love her name💜 i've been wondering how you've been getting on after you mentioned on one of my posts that you were still waiting for her! sounds like a really scary experience but thank god you are both safe, hope you're coming to terms with it all and that you're feeling supported and well. congratulations and sending so much love xx

Congratulations! Hope recovery goes well for you. Sounds silly but I had an elective c section because I was terrified of having an emergency one. It will be hard now but you will get better each day. I think day 5 I started to feel more myself. I’m not 4 weeks post c section and I’m pretty much back to normal 🙂

Congratulations! 🎉 I also had an emergency cat 1 section just over 3 weeks ago. Like others said, the first few days are tricky but I felt an improvement every day which kept me positive. Our hospital were great in offering support for birth trauma so I would recommend speaking to your about any services they might have to support you, even if you feel okay it can't do any harm to help you process everything that happened or fill in any gaps in memory when you're ready ❤️
