Yes definitely my experience. Sex had become so painful I had to go see a pelvic floor physiotherapist to help with that. It did wonders and now after 6 months of sessions I have no pain anymore (I also had a partial episiotomy before the c section so I had extra scar tissue to navigate).
Lmao I waited 4 and 1/2 weeks 🤣 But it happened with my first too! And tht time I waited 5 weeks But even during my pregnancy i had a lot of tightness Idk if it’s hormones or what but before ever getting pregnant I never had. This like tightness feeling
@Andrea what does a pelvic floor person do for you tho? Are there excercise I can do at home so that sex is more comfortable? I still have this issue and I’m 3 months pp
Like u would think this would be a good thing but it’s actually not lmao It hurts and then I don’t wanna have sex cuz everytime afterwards I’m sore and raw
Yea it wasn’t painful to where I didn’t want to do it again - just felt tighter I guess from waiting so long
Have u tried lube? If you’re past 6 weeks pp and it’s still painful, u may want to talk to ur doctor…:?
Following bc I’ll be having sex soon and I’m worried 🥴 would extra lubricants and going slow to start help ?
I haven’t tried lube bcuz dryness isn’t the issue LOL
Atleast I don’t think it’s the issue I seem to be lubricating myself pretty well
Hormones. During and after pregnancy your mucousal tissues (nasal, lips, vulva, etc) can be swollen. This would contribute to tightness. Definitely load up on lube regardless of how dry or not, and otherwise just take it slow.
@Jamie im not sure lol My body produces lots of wetness so like idk and I have to go slow bcuz he can’t just ram it in there or I would fucking cry
A pelvic floor physiotherapist will massage the painful/tight areas to loosen them up, teach you muscle exercises down there like different types kegels to strengthen them, and tell you what you need to do at home a few times a week. They also go over other things like constipation, diet, and exercise that affect pf health, and if there's other pain they will help you with physio in other areas. I also had back pain, c section scar pain, and knee pain so my physiotherapist gave me exercises for that on top of the pf exercises. It was so worth it. If you have any kind of insurance coverage for physiotherapy I 1000% recommend it.
Yes. Especially if you’re breastfeeding. Use loads of lube xx
I am breastfeeding! And okay living it up then lmao My only two complaints are the tightness and constipation 🤣

11 months post partum and i still have pain at times, i think its more of a lubrication issue though
Yup. Was totally that way for me. I didn’t understand, but my husband wasn’t gonna complain!
Constipation impacts vaginal tightness because it's pushing on the pf muscles and keeping them tight. My physiotherapist told me to take fibre gummies every day to get regular again and it helped me be able to strengthen my pf muscles again and alleviate the pain.
@Laura HAHA!!!!!
How long did you wait? Could it just have been that you’ve not had sex for 6 weeks? I can’t remember how it was with my first one but I’m coming up 4 weeks pp with this one so I’ll know in 2 weeks time😂
