Body after C section

Is anyone else struggling a little with themselves after a c section? Like the acceptance side. I birthed a 10lb 1 baby girl and I was HUGE and had a c section. With my 7 year old I had a vaginal delivery, no stretch marks, bounced back pretty quick. This time I have the big scar, overhang, stretch marks and a lot more weight gain. It was worth every single moment don’t get me wrong, but I am struggling with my new body this time, I’m struggling ever seeing myself getting back in shape, not having an overhang even if I do loose weight. It’s just a bit more mentally harder this time around. I didn’t feel any of these things before and it’s probably cause there’s the big scar to remind me. I’m sure I’ll learn to love it with time. I am breastfeeding and I would say I’ve lost quite abit already but feel I’ve got a long way to go… probably being hard on myself because it’s only been 2 and a half months 😂🙈. Does anyone else feel the same?

Yes, I hear you, hard to see your old self (or near enough to) coming back. Just trying to be kind to myself as much as I can, but not easy x

I had c section too and I'm a first time parent. Also struggling with the same... what's worse is that I'm breastfeeding and stupid hungry all the time.

@Lindelani same here, always hungry and thirsty!

The dr told me to absolutely prioritise food and drink, 1.5 times the nutrition and food needed a day postpartum, especially breast feeding. This was after I had a dizzy spell and nearly collapsed at home with my baby in my arms. I am now eating little and often constantly, even through the night. Breast feeding burns loads of calories and is actually quite high intensity for the body @Lindelani x

@Emily the breastfeeding fatigue is terrible... my cravings for sugar are better these days but it can get bad bad bad.

Preach sister! I absolutely hate my body post c-section. We’re 10 week postpartum and honestly I can barely look at myself. Everyone always says ‘oh it never goes away’ and ‘just get used to it you’ve birthed a baby’ but that doesn’t make you feel any more confident. I’ve firmly told myself there has to be something I can do. I’ve been YouTubing post c-section workouts to strengthen my core (I’m also watching what I eat), I massage my stomach every morning and night and I have a c-section support band which you can buy to help pull your muscles in. Never feel hard on yourself🫶🏻xx

@Gee🧸 I definitely should do some kind of workouts but I haven’t got round to it. And my appetite is insane at the moment I can’t stop eating! Yes I’ve read all and heard people saying it never goes away and it’s got me even more down about it! I think the only way I’ll improve it is if I put the effort in but tbh I feel like I don’t have the time nor energy for a workout atm 😂. I’m already in dilemmas of what to do if she’s having a nap! Do I eat? Do I make tea? Do I do some self care? Do I shower? Do I nap? Do washing? Clean up? Now I’m going to add workout into the mix 🤣. I do a lot of walking with the pram but I think with how much I’m eating it’s not doing much atm! 😔 on the deppo aswell and apparently that can cause weight gain 😩

@Gee🧸 i did look at them postpartum support bands though I’ll have to have another look, which did you get? Xx
