Being honest I went out and bought absolutely everything I thought I would need and potentially would not need. You really do use some and there is still times when LO arrives where u need something that u didn’t get/think of. For example I bought a breast pump and milk storage and I haven’t even used it once. On the other hand I needed to use Amazon in the early days basically every day for things I didn’t even consider 😆 you can be so prepared but in the end still need things or have spent money on stuff you haven’t even used. Its hard. It’s better to have but not go overboard. For example I had like bought about 10 dummies and my baby doesn’t even take them. Best advice is make sure u have Amazon prime and if people ask u what do u need say vouchers for Amazon or money cause u never know half the stuff u end up needing/trying 😆
I would get the essentials and then wait until baby is born to see what you are missing. As others said we were given things like dummies and they were different brands, we gave him one because we didn't know if the other was an orthodontic dummy and now he will only take that brand because of the shape. I also bought loads of things like pumps, millions of bottles, freezer bags. And then I breastfed and couldn't be bothered with pumping at all because it was too much washing up 😂😂😂 on the other hand, I didn't buy maternity bras because I thought I could manage with my old bras, I didn't get a next to me, and didn't get that many newborn sized clothes. A moses basket was gifted to us on the day he was born which was a lifesaver, i ended up buying bras with amazon prime, and my father in law went and bought extra clothes when he was a couple days old. The clothes was a tough one because sometimes they barely fit if you have a big baby, or they might be in them for a while if they are small...
It's hard to know how many to get but we were running out because we had an issue finding nappies that didn't leak at first
Things you don’t need. A changing table… used ours like twice and then it ended up being a laundry pile. A steriliser is okay but lots of brands can be sterilised in the microwave or just with some cheap Milton in the sink. You don’t need a high chair for a few months so save space. Things you do need: Lots of muslins (great for throw up, breastfeeding cover, sunshade, light blanket, covering your clothes for burping, lining the pram if baby has reflux) Reusable breast pads, much cheaper and straight in the washing machine.
Wash everything to get prepared and put away ready to go. Pack your hospital bag in a few weeks so you are ready to go at anytime and comfortable knowing you have what you need.
Next to me. Moses basket. Plenty of muslin cloths. Rapid cool for bottle feeding x
