Advice on getting a membrane sweep

We scheduled an elective induction next week at 40 weeks. Today I’m 39 weeks. Been trying to read and get insight about a membrane sweep and if they actually work. Mostly I’ve learned they hurt like hell and don’t work. Have you had a membrane sweep? What was your experience and did it even work? Is this something I can try before our induction? I have my final OB appointment tomorrow and thought I could ask to do it then.

I had one for the first time Friday. It didn’t hurt just uncomfortable. So far I’m still pregnant Lml, but I would still ask to have one it might work it might not.

I had one at 38 weeks, nothing happened i’m 40 weeks today still only 1.5cm dilated. To me it hurt really bad, not the worst pain i’ve ever felt but definitely extremely uncomfortable. Definitely try to move as much as you can, lookup some workout videos on youtube that help induce labor, and see if that helps! I’ve tried everything and nothing has worked 🥲 but everyone is different and those things could work for you!

So I just had one a couple hours ago and honestly it hurt for me. But my midwife did say it was harder to do mine because the sack was bulging because of my water being close to breaking so it took longer and was harder for her to do the sweep so that may be why it was painful! I’ve had a couple contractions and pressure down low so far but I’ve heard that could just go away and it not even work. I’m getting induced Wednesday so this was like my last thing to try to naturally go into labor as well. If you’re wanting to naturally go into labor I would at least try it, if it does hurt it’ll only be for a couple seconds, it’s more pressure than anything.

I've had two! Lost my mucus plug & cramping the first time nothing the second time! Didn't hurt was just uncomfortable. Unfortunately didn't work still pregnant 😂
