Finding recovery more difficult this time

With my first I had an elective C-section due to my heart condition, I was in almost no pain by day 2 and didn't need any pain medication. I went in for a growth scan last Friday and was told I had almost no amniotic fluid left so baby had to come out so I could be induced or have a section, I chose for a section (category 3 emergency C-section - UK) which in the end I was told was the better choice since my previous scar tissue was very thin and would have likely ruptured with an induction. However this time around I've been in way more pain and discomfort, I'm absolutely hating recovery. I've also got an overhanging belly which I didn't have after my first so I'm not sure if this is causing the extra pain/discomfort. Paracetamol and ibuprofen combination just doesn't seem to cut the pain this time, I'm moving around a lot since the pain seems to be worse after I'm sat down for a bit. I know it's still early days in my recovery but I just needed to rant as I'm really struggling at the moment, hopefully it will be better in a few days.

Yes girl, I was the same as you but backwards. Planned c sections that came early so became a “emergency” and then elective c section my second. My first I was ten years younger and wizzed through looking like it never happened. My second it slowed me down a lot more and I can definitely tell in my body I’ve had two even at my thinnest weight from the pouch. How long ago did you have this one? I assume like a week? It’s going to be fine as long as no infection gets in there I’m sure you’ll feel a lot more like yourself over the next 3 weeks. Hang in there girl! And just throwing it out there, I had a vaginal induction and a successful VBA2C on my third baby!

@Cassie oh wow you actually had a VBAC the third time around 😲 my OB said that after 2 sections they won't even try a VBAC anymore. I had my first 3 years ago, now my second only 4 days ago and there definitely won't be a third.

Could have written this myself tbh. I’m almost 2 months post partum now and feel relatively back to normal however, I also got the c section shelf this time and that’s been really hard to get used to. I was relatively slim before and now I feel like I’m always going to have a very low pouch.
