Has anyone in U.K. used the pregnancy sickness support counselling service?

I was wondering if anyone in the U.K. has used the pregnancy sickness support counselling service. As it’s quite expensive I wanted to find out whether it’s worth it before committing? I’m mainly looking for advice on how to prepare yourself for a second child and dealing with the anxiety / guilt for either having / not having another? And just taking the time to process what we’ve been through. I’ve never done anything like counselling before. I’m sure it’s not a miracle cure, but just curious if anyone thinks it is really beneficial?

Hi, I had counselling through them during my second HG pregnancy (bed bound for absolutely ages, couldn’t look after my toddler, thiamine deficiency, dehydration, lots of fainting… I found it incredibly helpful to have counselling with someone who understood HG. As I was on sick pay for most of my pregnancy they offered me half price sessions. I’d highly recommend the counselling and also their peer support if you do decide to do it again. I’d now also talk to my GP before I get pregnant to discuss medication, etc in order to straight away be given Xonvea. But we decided we’re done now after our second HG baby.

Thank you, that’s really great to hear that they helped you :) Would you say it would be worth doing it before trying for another pregnancy, or more useful when you’re in the thick of round 2?

I haven't used their counselling service, but found the peer support service invaluable during pregnancy 💜

Sorry to jump on your post. I haven’t had their counselling but I’m also interested in it after I’ve had my baby due to the trauma I’ve experienced because of HG. I would say perhaps not to have counselling whilst you’re in the thick of it as you might not benefit fully from it, but I’m no professional so best to ask them! How much is it out of interest? Xx

£50 an hour x 6 sessions xx

I've been using their peer support service which has been a great help. I signed up as soon as the nausea got bad (second pregnancy so knew what was coming). Also as Eva said, ask for Xonvea medication xx

How do we get the peer support ?
