Spinning baby? Anyone else had an elective c-section? At how many weeks did you do it?

I’ve really not been keen on induction at all and had no plans to actually go down this root so I booked in for an elective for 40+6 weeks thinking he would come before. Well he hasn’t 😂😂 and now I’m not sure if I should have given him more time He’s still floating around and not engaged at all which is a bit more risky for a cord prolapse but not a definite risk. Not sure if I’m doing the right thing Anyone else has a literal spinning baby? 😂😂

I did and had an elective section. Afterwards the surgeon told me it was the best choice because she was very likely to be breach as a result of the extra fluid and if so I would have went through the pains of labour just to have an emergency section anyway. X

@Karen ah ok! That’s really good to know! at how many weeks did you have the elective? It’s difficult because most of the times he’s head down and then you can feel him move off obliquely now and then! U just don’t know what position he will end up in at the time and being 30 mins from the hospital means in an emergency I would be pretty stuck!

Yeah my girl was head down for ages right up to 36 week scan and then decided she didn't know what way to be. I was 38+3 on my section day x

I think this happened to my son when he was born. I went 2 week over as it just wasn’t happening on its own. He would pop back our every night and I’d get a great nights sleep 🙈 I was eventually induced but I think given the size of him and the excess water, it ended up being quite dangerous so I’d deffo got for an elective C-section next time. That’s my plan this time that it labour doesn’t happen on its own by 42 weeks then I’ll have a c section booked in

@Marina thank you, that’s a very helpful perspective! They only saw by chance in one visit that he happened to be in a wrong position(he knows when to smile for the camera!😂) Happy to know now than in the middle of labour though!

Hi I'm currently 38+6 in hospital because baby lying oblique at scan on Monday so I've been in since and would have had to stay until next week for observation due to risk of cord prolapse with a C-section booked but I did spinning babies and a few other exercises and baby has moved into pelvis and engaged! So it's definitely worth a try will send a few links to the things I tried. Hoping baby stays put now they will check tomorrow and if he's engaged I can go home tomorrow and go with original plan

These are the exercises I tried but I feel like the last one did the trick many other mums in comments said it worked for them too. I honestly did not think it would work did it for a half hour last night and an hour this morning right before examination and they said he had engaged https://www.spinningbabies.com/pregnancy-birth/baby-position/other-fetal-positions/oblique-lie/ https://www.milescircuit.com/the-circuit.html https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8pRF_NgFdU/?igsh=a2ZtYmphMHB3NXE3 https://youtu.be/BhlCgH0pBZA?si=oIEYCTUl3oQAINTp
