My doctor said 12 months is safe to get pregnant again I would just wait it’s only 6 months more and the uterine rupture and all of that can kill you
I was advised 18 months between births, there are 18 months 2 weeks between my youngest.. no one ever questioned or mentioned how close they were (other than telling me I would have my hands full 🤣) second pregnancy and birth was fine with no issues x
You'd be considered high risk because your uterus having such a short time to heal. Like everyone said, uterine rupture is a huge risk and can happen so quickly. If it does you only have a few minutes to get into surgery to fix it to even have a chance at saving your uterus. Most ruptures end in hysterectomy to save Mom's life
We got pregnant close to first year of our first born. His bday is 4/12/2024 and I was two weeks pregnant for his bday
I had my first boy in April 2022 and my Second Boy March 2023 - born 6 weeks early due to sepsis… but other that that pregnancy was fine both c section xx
I wasn’t even advised, my midwife said “we’ve loved having you but we don’t want to see you back here for at least 2 years”🤣
I had my little.boy 30 March 2023 via emergency section and I feel pregnant a few months after she was born this year may 24th only stipulation they had is I have another c section with her as it was pretty soon after the first and having a natural.birth could lead to complications during labour x
I had an emergency section with my first… fell pregnant when she was 11 month old… had a normal easy pregnancy. I was under consultant but defo wasn’t a high risk pregnancy and had an elective section - no issues and recovered really easily like first time around ☺️☺️ xx
I had an emergency c-section in July 2022. I was told to wait two years before getting pregnant again. I fell pregnant when my baby was 7 months old. Everything was fine with the pregnancy and birth. I had an elective c-section with my second baby November 2023. There is 16 months between my two boys and its the best thing ever! They are so close, it's lovely xx
I was told 2 years, but I fell pregnant 14 months after my emergency section. I had an elective section with my 2nd and all was fine 😊
There are definitely more risks getting pregnant soon after having a baby with any previous birth experience. You’re not you again until at least 18-24 months after you have a baby. 6 months is the “sucker” time I like to call it lol you’re feeling good and they’re so cute, but you haven’t experienced teething and all the other “fun” stuff that happens after that age. I don’t want to be pregnant and dealing with a teething child. I barely want to not be pregnant and dealing with a teething child 😂I personally have had mine every 2.5 years. I am myself again and can make an informed decision not an emotional one. BUT this has been my experience and what works best for me!
I had a c-section in october 2018,april 2021,september 2022 and my fourth one 5 months ago. None high risk no complications.
I had a c-section on Monday exactly 15 months after my last one, got pregnant at 6 months pp. pregnancy and procedure went fine, felt a bit more battered than I remember feeling yesterday but much better today and up and about at home. My consultant wasn’t concerned about the gap xx
I had an emergency c-section in February 2022 and just had a successful VBAC a week ago today. Between my first section and pregnancy was just shy of 24 months. When I had an ultrasound, they said they couldn't really even see my internal scar anymore because I had given myself time to heal. For the pregnancy, I had no complications and everything went very smoothly. Uterine rupture is a risk of having them closer together. The risk gets smaller and smaller the longer you wait. If you are hoping to have a VBAC, I would highly recommend waiting 18-24 months.

Thank you ladies, I appreciate it. I think considering all of the comments, it would be wise for me to wait until 12 months PP at least. I will definitely be opting for a elective section. My baby girl weighed 10.4, she would have torn me from front to back had I managed to push her out. 🤣😂🙈🙊🙉
I had a C-section August 2023, and I’m having another one Jan 2025. I found out I was pregnant again when my daughter was 9 months old and I’m all cleared to go. 🤷🏻♀️ everyone is different tho. Like if your pregnancy was high risk etc, but even so I’m high risk but my doctor isn’t worried
The risks explained to me by my surgeon: Uterine rupture is the scary one. If your uterus is too thin and not healed it can open in pregnancy as you grow baby 2. That’s the end of any future babies and can be a full hysterectomy. Increased risk to mum and baby. High risk pregnancies needing bed rest due to not healing internally fully. Higher cases of issues like haemorrhaging and miscarriages as your body is still healing and isn’t ready to start again so quickly. I was told a minimum of 18 months between babies to allow your body to reset. It lowers all these risks, it means you can go on to have 2/3/4 healthy babies and pregnancies and overall less damage to your body in the long term. I’m 2.5y between babies with sections and I ache, the stretching did hurt internally and I was healed fully xx
