@Candace oh I see! Maybe I just assumed it was due to high risk, as others I’ve spoken to haven’t had it
I have one due to having inflammation in my spine which may affect an epidural being delivered, do you have spine issues?
I’m having one as I’m allergic to latex and they want to discuss what my birth plan will look like with that in mind, so I wouldn’t worry too much xx
I've got one booked for December and I never had one in my previous pregnancy, I don't know if it's a new thing or it just got missed last time. I'm at risk of a giant baby though so I just thought it was because of that🤷🏼♀️😂
I had one as I had a failed epidural in my last delivery and I have a back condition.
I had one this week due to me being high risk. I do think it is only offered to those who are high risk or have pre-existing conditions. It was a really quick appointment with them explaining how it works if you go in for a planned C section. We went through the pros and cons of an epidural V general anaesthetic. Nothing to worry about
Update: I had mine and she said it was due to my bmi. It was a super helpful appointment to discuss the different forms of anaesthetic available and the pros and cons of each! I feel a lot more prepared now actually!
me too mines next Wednesday but it’s not because of being high risk (as I’m not) it’s too discuss pain medication for your birth, so epidurals etc . That’s what I was told anyway
