How long after you started pitocin did you get the epidural?
I got the epidural literally right away. They broke my water, got the epidural, then started pitocin
My goal was to feel as little pain as possible lol
@Stephanie this is my goal too - I’m so glad to hear you had a positive experience
Then I’d just be sure to let the nurses know your goal & you’re ready for the epidural asap. I hope you have a speedy and pain free labor!
I was sort of induced lol not really but they still classify it as that. I did go into labor naturally but it was taking a very long time to become more dilated, so I got my epidural and then they started me on pitocin. It really helped and I swear i didn’t really feel a thing. They did have to stop the pitocin because the contractions got dangerously close together. But epidural + pitocin was a pleasant combo for me personally!
I had my induction 1 week ago and it was an amazing experience. I was 3 cm when we started so they started me on pitocin right away and broke my water. I would recommend telling them you want the epidural as soon as you’re able that way you’re not dealing with painful contractions while the anesthesiologist is trying to do it. The only downside is only clear liquids after you get the epidural.
