I would say 20 to 25 depending on where you are in Southern California
Bay Area here, and starting rate is about 30$ 😵💫😭
I’m in northern California and the average is $20. But using June care, I have found moms and sitters. The moms usually charge less as it isn’t always their main source of income. Or at least a lot of them have flexible rates. I have been able to talk some of them down as what I’m looking for is a mommy helper or occasional date night/errand thing. Each area has its own going rate. Just google that as a start point. And try june care. Hi, check out June Care 🌈, a new on-demand childcare service connecting families who need childcare with local, like-minded sitters who can care for their kids. It's free to sign up and claim your $25 of childcare from a trusted June Care provider when you sign up with my link. https://app.junecare.co/g/cfb5c
when i was a babysitter in my teens i was paid $50 an hour per child
Truthfully in la the minimum is $25/30 I wouldn’t really trust most people doing it for less (unless they’re a family friend)
Thank you everyone for your input. I live in a really small town in the central valley so maybe anywhere from $20-30/hr since I don't think this is the main source of income for the people I'm talking to. Still waiting to hear back from most of them for their availability and then I'll go from there. But I appreciate all the input as it gives me a starting point.
@Allana is that better than Care dot com? I had that for a bit but got rid of it since I wasn't having any luck finding anyone in my area. One of the downfalls of living in the middle of nowhere.
I have had better luck and experiences. But it could be harder living in a more isolated area. It’s just a suggestion. If you couldn’t find anything I get it. I just like telling people cuz it has worked well for me.
@Allana I'll definitely check it out, thank you! I've never heard of it before now.
Depends on where you live and how you find them! We are in the Bay Area and the going rate is anywhere between $30-45 an hour, depending on where you find your sitter!
