Hospital of choice

Which hospital are you giving birth in? I am currently signed to Newham however I’m not 100% sure I’m happy with the care offered. I’m not keen on barking birth centre because I want to be near a NICU. Does anyone know if Newham offers a private room for extra money? I know that St Thomas has an option for a separate room for an extra £150. Also, the mat care when it comes to emergencies is rather slow in Newham. I went to A&E with stomach cramps, waited for 4 hours to get a referral for next day in Maryland for a scan. Again in St Thomas in comparison, they have a 24/7 mat emergency department where they perform scans and several tests immediately when you walk in. Am I maybe misunderstanding the Newham system? What are the other surrounding hospitals like?

I’m in Barking but self referred to Homerton. They have an excellent NICU and I’ll be having my second there too.

I think St Thomas is a safe choice, lot of my clients chooses over Newham ( I am newborn photographer)

I’m currently at newham and you have the option of a private room for £90 if they are available. Sometimes they’ll just give you a private room if they’re not in need. Also once you’re past the 18 week point at Newham you can go into their maternity triage for any issues and they’re usually quite quick. I found my care at Newham really good

St thomas is Amazing! They honestly saved my sons life after being born at 24wks , it wasn't my local i was transferred there. Then last year I fell pregnant and had all my care again with them, honestly such an amazing hospital! X

Queens queens queens all the way! They were amazinggggg I cannot say enough about the staff, how they talk to you, how reassuring, how prompt with things you need, how empowering they make you feel!

Newham is rubbish. Dirty. I gave birth Royal London. More cleaner and good help needed
