I have the same worry! Have they given you a date for 39 weeks?
I did the classes on labour just in case .. I went into labour at 36 weeks 4 days, however … when they asked me, I still got a c section so you may find that even if you went into labour, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have to give birth vaginally x
@Abbey no not got a date yet as I’m only 30 weeks lol but people have scared me and I know everyone preps for birth such a raspberry tea and perineal massages to prevent tearing as I am petrified if I don’t prepare for natural birth, I’m going to have the worst labour and on top of that, all the stuff to help with birth after! I’m only prepared for a c section lol x
@Amanda ah thank you so much! I don’t know if I’m just over thinking it x
They usually try to get you your c-section, even if you go into labour early but I am still having the same fears 😂 Definitely feeling like baby #2 might come early. I'm booked for my section at 39+1
@Anna I saw somewhere that if you go into labour before and you’re dilated, they won’t do a c section 😫 x
No I’ve not prepared for natural labour. If I go in to natural labour my C-section will still take place it will just be classified as emergency not planned so there will be little difference. My last labour was 26 hours, so I expect to have plenty of time to have the C-section!
As long as baby isn't actually appearing, I think you're fine. My friend went into labour 3 days before her scheduled section and she still got one. Obviously, if things move quickly and there's no time, then they can't but as long as you get to hospital in plenty of time, you're OK.
If your wish is to have a c section they will give you one even if you go into labour before a planned date. Just make sure you ring up and tell them as soon as your think your in labour and state you wish for a section x
They still do the section, unless baby is crowning so you’ll probably be fine aha x
Thank you so much ladies!!! You’ve all put my mind at rest 🙈💕
I've written a 'plan' for both. I've listened to all the antenatal classes for both routes. We were just talking about the different things you may need to pack for vaginal over section but not sure what to do there.
