I had a hapoy planned c section with my first so haooy to talk if you want to DM me. The actual section and hospital stay, there's nothing i think you need to worry about. I would say you can prepare by meal preping, freezing food, buying comfy clothes that go above the scar....
my due date is 11/11! a special date 🥹🥹
@Libby aw I was thinking this! Such a cute, special birthday
@Conchi thank you
@Phoebe thank you
For me I felt like knowledge was power, and knowing what would happen/what to expect at each stage helped me massively. I ended up with an earlier unplanned section but because I felt knowledgable, had read positive stories and had a planned breathing technique I felt super chilled. The one thing that did shock me a little was the recovery, everyone said to get up and move as soon as possible but for me I just couldn’t do that which then made me feel like I was being a detriment to myself and my health, but actually everyone has their own healing journey and you just do whatever your body allows, don’t push or rush yourself just work to your own pace. I had an amazing student midwife who was so supportive of me right after my section and the two days I was in there, she helped me massively! I realllllly wish I meal prepped though, that’s one thing I didn’t get around to doing as I had her early but it would’ve been a big help! X
I have an elective c-section on 11/11 too 🤗
I'm still waiting for a date for mine, this will be my second c section, definitely don't watch videos of the surgical procedure because I did and it's putting me off despite the fact I've already undergone one a year ago lol. I wanted to be up on my feet straight away to the midwife's surprise but it actually helped my recovery process. Positive stories, nesting and preparing your hospital bag.
What a special date! My way of preparing was reading positive c section stories, reading only official info of what happens during and after the procedure, my mum had one so speaking to her and just some positive affirmations that after 10 minutes on the bed my baby will be in my arms 😊 xx
