@Tasmin thanks for that. The pain is manageable and once I start moving about it’s fine but in bed at night is so uncomfortable. I feel like an old lady with the sore hips!😂 I still feel quite slow in general Is this quite normal too? X
I have a large soft toy which I used like a pregnancy pillow and that really helped support my stomach, this helped me stay sleeping on my side. I still get the odd back pain especially when I sleep on my back. I just use heat and pain killers if its bad
Everything does get back to normal eventually it does just take time! I went to a chiropractor for my back and everything else that aches after and it’s been well worth it!
Thank you everyone. I had no idea what to expect or what’s meant to feel “Normal” I hear so many people say how they where back to normal after 6-8 weeks and I’m thinking jeezo I feel like an old woman I’m so stiff. Bed is the worse my sides are sore and then the bottom of my back is so. Could this be the spinal maybe? Like I say it’s manageable without pain killers just aches and keeps me awake. The gp said it can take 6 months after major surgery I just had no idea I’d feel slow the scar and everything is fine it’s just everywhere else!😂
Yes you will be able to comfortably sleep on your sides again it just takes time for your body to readjust, try using pregnancy pillow for support should help make it more comfortable. As for the bottom of your back try heat packs unfortunately there’s not a lot you can do other than apply heat and take paracetamol but the pain should start to ease as time passes, if you’re in chronic pain speak to your gp and they might be able to prescribe stronger pain medication xx
