This happened to me and my contractions started about 15hrs after. I was going for a home birth but at 24hrs I was only 4cm and didn’t seem to progress so went to hospital. Told them I was upset as really didn’t want to be induced. Midwife heard me and made me feel safe and comfortable, baby came within 2 hours with no induction or interventions. Your body needs to feel safe and calm for labour, so try not to worry about what might happen, get yourself cozy, stick on your fave feel good show and relax ☺️ you’ve got this!
My contractions started within 5-6 hours of my waters breaking xx
Relax, rest. Get the oxytocin going Cuddles, laughing etc etc
Same as it happened for me too but chose to be induced, ended up with cat 2 c section, and lucky it went that way as baby did not descend as she had the cord wrapped around her neck and forewaters did not break either. They can’t tell exactly what’s going on in there so be careful x
How did they confirm it’s your waters? X

@Roberta aw sorry to hear that! It’s so hard when they can’t properly see baby. My contractions started at 7pm that evening and he arrived 10pm all happened very quickly 😫 hate the unknown!
60% of women’s contractions start within 24 hours and 91% of women’s within 48 hours, so you’ve got time! 3 hours isn’t long at all. You can wait 36-72 hours before requiring an induction as long as you and baby aren’t showing any signs of infection. You do not need an induction after 24 hours so advocate for yourself if you don’t want one. https://www.ouh.nhs.uk/maternity/documents/after-your-waters-break.pdf This NHS leaflet may be helpful for you xx
