If you feel like you're going to react in a way you feel isn't right, the best thing to do is walk away for a few minutes. Even if you need to lock yourself in the bathroom (obviously make sure baby is okay first) and do breathing exercises. Then when you feel more calm, go to them and kneel down to their level. Ask for their hands, and show them how to breathe in and breathe out. When they start doing that, ask them if they feel better and ask them what you can do to make it better. I have two 3 year olds and this works great, as long as I'm consistent. You got this mama!
Mine have been taught breathing exercises by me since they were two. It's a life saver!
