Congratulations! I too had contractions for 24hrs and then had a c section. It felt so unfair to be in pain for so long but not be progressing. Either way - you’re amazing and you and baby are healthy which is important :)
I just want to say this was the exact same experience I had with my first birth 19 months ago. All of the feelings are normal—I felt happy, proud, shameful, embarrassed, traumatized, unworthy, all of the feels. This month I had a vbac and I was given a 30% chance of success. What I learned through it was to appreciate my C-section and to give myself grace. You just went through a major abdominal surgery to birth your baby and for good reason—something was not quite right and the C-section helped to prevent something go wrong. You are a badass warrior and you should be proud of yourself. C-sections are not the easy way out and labor and delivery are completely out of your control no matter how much you can try and do!
@Rebecca thank you. I appreciate that!
@Ellen thank you!
@Joy congrats
@Katie thank you very much.
I had an emergency c-section with my first after he got stuck and his heart rate started dropping. Going from laboring to a c-section isn't fun at all 🫠
Sending you so much love and healing ❤️ I also did not get the birth experience that I wanted and worked towards, and I know I'll be grieving right alongside celebrating my healthy baby girl for a while
