I had an elective csection 7 weeks ago this coming Wednesday and it was the best decision I made, it was such a lovely and calming experience and was a beautiful way to welcome our baby boy into the world. My recovery has been very good too, a lot better than I had prepared for and expected. I would definitely select to have another one in the future xx
I had an elective section on 3rd sept and it was the most amazing experience of my life! First couple of days are the hardest recovery wise but not as bad as what I imagined, I’d do it all again if I had a second! Everything is so calm and exciting, I would recommend to anyone x
I had an elective 6 weeks ago and don’t regret a thing. Recovery wasn’t easy, it’s definitely not for the weak 😂 by day 5 I felt a bit better and by 2 weeks started to feel back to normal. It’s scary but I liked knowing I was in control and knowing what was going to happen x
I had somewhat an emergency section (labour didn’t progress so we decided not to continue induction and have a section) and originally hoped for a vaginal birth - and without experience of the latter, recovery hasn’t been as bad as some stories I’ve heard luckily. The first week is difficult if you have no support, sitting up and laying back down in bed is draining as well as painful - by day 5-6 I was moving a lot better and by 2 weeks was doing what I’d usually do. Currently 4 weeks post and I’m pretty much back to “normal” just conscious of it. Xx
I had a bleed during my section and lost a lot of blood so it wasn’t the calm environment that I had in mind and had a small infection during recovery. The first week is hard but if you stay on top of painkillers it’s doable and after two weeks I was pretty much back to normal. If I had the choice in the future I would still choose a section again as even with all of the things that went wrong it still wasn’t a bad experience!
I had a planned section 6 weeks ago and it's been amazing. I actually enjoyed the whole thing. For 10 days after the pain was quite bad but manageable with painkillers and now 6 weeks on I feel 100% recovered. I would definitely choose this again if I am lucky enough to have a 2nd baby.
Thank you so much everyone! I think I’ll definitely consider a section next time! I’m glad to hear all these positive stories x
I had an elective c section 4 weeks ago with my first baby and it was the best decision for me and recovery has been a dream, I expected a lot worse!
