@Gee🧸 ah that’s really helpful, thank you! X
Honestly. I had a better emergency c section recovery than I did with a cut and forceps (in theater with the plan for a section). Honestly I’d take a C-section over a vaginal any day. No labour pain, all planned. Big nickers definitely im 5 months on and bought all new big well high waist pants because pants so rub on my scar xx
LOTS OF HELP. especially in the first couple of weeks. You won’t be able to get from lying down to sitting without help so getting out of bed is hard. You won’t be able to drive for 6 weeks, walk very far or leave the house without help. Expect to be bound to the sofa for a couple of weeks feeding the baby so I hope you have someone to help with the house, nappy changes and other children. And yes, comfy high waisted granny pants for a few months!
Undies that go up to your bra think big granny pants 😂 I set up a standing changing station downstairs too on a side board so I didn’t have to bend over, Try to get something to grab on to to pull yourself up out of bed, (I have seen some people tie material to the bottom of the bed frame) Also a pico dressing is great if your hospital let you have one not all do ☺️
Little and often movement for yourself. And try and do your first stool and soon as possible, makes such a difference, sleep where you can. If you have people around that can help with doing things like baby’s nappy, etc take the help.
Rest as much as you can! Honestly it will feel like you don’t want to or can’t but time and rest was my biggest healer, especially as I contracted two infections!
I dont know how the normal vaginal pain is but my c section was horrible i was not planned i think that added on. The after recovery was sooooo bad i was in brutal pain which lasted me 2 months and till 4 months i couldn’t do anything crazy otherwise it would hurt. Even now my baby is 7 months if i put her on my tummy to play it stings sometimes like it hurts . The recovery is long and you have to be very careful with every thing. If you planning to do c section i would say make sure there is a lot of help around but that was my experience every one is different.
Lots of loose clothing, I tried to sleep on a wedge pillow, but I couldn’t fall asleep on it so I just laid down normally in bed. It was extremely painful anytime I had to get up. Make sure you have lots of help too! Freezer meals, crock pot dump meals, or a meal train will be helpful. High waisted underwear nice and slip on shoes!
Super big stretchy underwear😂! You want nothing on or close to your scar, you can actually buy c-section scar patches and Frida also do a recovery band. All things I’d never heard of with mine. As for recovery just once the bandage comes off try to keep your scar nice and clean and gently dab dry. Very very small walks help and gradually increase but go really easy on yourself. C-section recovery is difficult and it takes so much time for your body to recover afterwards x
