I had a doula. She taught me how stress can stall labour but even just being transported from home to hospital can stall it. Women often start labour late at night or early mornings as that’s when we are most comfortable. Hormones are happy and relaxed. This enables labour as we are safe. Even just transport can stop our happy hormones and temporarily pause or even stop labour.
So sorry ladies, I didn’t get the notification you’d commented! 😧
@Emma I didn’t no, only had the epidural at the end for my c section. Damn that sounds lovely though, I only made it to 4cm!
@Bex that could’ve possibly been it then, I was quite stressed in the car but actually my contractions were getting more painful on the journey (about 25/30 mins) and I think that then worried me further as I really didn’t want baby in the car! That makes sense, thank you! I’m worried for getting pregnant again tbh because I worry it’ll go south again and because I only made it to 4cm it’s like doing it for the first time again as I really don’t know what’s next!
Did you have pain relief at all? With my son I got to hospital and was already 6cm (no idea how!😂😂) I asked for all the pain relief because I said I'd seen one born every minute and didn't want to end up them telling me I was too far gone for an epidural. They warned me that it would slow my labour right down but I accepted anyway. 13 hours later I pushed for an hour and my son got stuck so it ended in an emergency csection xxxx
