I wasn't given an option because (didn't find this out until like a year later) my placenta fell into the poo bag after delivery 😂
Going to ask to donate both placenta and umbilical chord
I had my encapsulated. Still have some.
I’ve had HG in all my pregnancies. I don’t even want to see that thing. Just want it out of me as soon as possible and be done 😅
They threw mine but I got to see it!! She even dissected it for me explaining each part! 🤣
@Monica how does that work?
I regret not doing anything with my placenta. Really wish I would have researched it more and been able to either donate it or keep it
It’s important to keep the placenta otherwise if it’s in good condition in the hospital will and that has your DNA in it
@Violeta💕 I had mine encapsulated by a company called Mommy Made Encapsulation, it’s located in California. I’ve known about her for years and always knew I wanted to work with her. I paid over $400 to have it encapsulated and umbilical cord made into a keep sake (they dehydrate it in the shape of a heart and dip it in gold chrome. Looks and feels like metal). Absolutely worth it. Helped with my milk supply, bonding, replenish iron levels and so many other things! I can send you the info if you’d like :) or maybe you’ve heard of them?
Apparently the hospital is allowed to sell it but u urself aren’t, which kind of pisses me off that the hospital can profit off of my body and i can’t
I asked to and it was written in my chart, but when I went in for emergency C-section, I never saw the placenta and it was never brought up afterward. I could have asked I guess but I got very distracted with all of the chaos and trauma
@Monica neat...yes send me the link please. If I end up having more kids I'm going to do this for sure . Lol
@Victoria what!!!
Yes, I donated it to cadaver dogs.

I still have mine almost 16 months later
Nope but I had a good look at it 😅
@Stephanie huh ?
@Shay what are you going to do with it?
I saved it to donate to search and rescue dogs. They can practice by using placentas!
@Violeta💕 I am going to plant it with a Japanese maple seed hoping it will grow a tree that would live as long as my son or maybe even longer
No I didn’t, the midwife asked if I wanted to see it and I said no so after they examined it they took it away. There are no proven health benefits to consuming your placenta, other mammals just do it so predators don’t smell it and know there are vulnerable babies there.
I was unable to due to it being severely infected
No, kaiser said I wasn't allowed and they tossed it in the trash infront of me 💔
Encapsulated
i got mine capsulated !
@Stephanie wow. Placenta went to a good cause!
@Shay this is super different! This is a great idea!
I wanted to keep it and/or get it put into a blood bank thingy. In the end my husband and I had enough to worry about so we let the birthing center take it. For future babies, we’ll probably put it in a bank
@Monica I’m interested in this! My partner mentioned it but I had no idea how it’s done. Can you also send me info?
