C-section or vaginal delivery with Mo-Di twins?

I’m almost 26 weeks with my twins and I’m terrified that they have to come out lol I’ve already had a child and had him vaginally 11 months ago and it was extremely traumatic for me the whole thing from start to finish. I wanted to try and do a vaginal delivery with my twins because I’m scared to have a c-section it gives me so much anxiety thinking about the recovery and just having major surgery in general but my ob told me that I can do vaginal as long as the twins are around the same size and baby a is head down and that if baby b ends up breech they can do what they can to help deliver her but there is a chance her head will get stuck and I’d still have to end up with an emergency c-section so either way I feel like I’ll end up having one. Should I just chose to do an elective one? I’m also getting my tubes removed after I have them so it would be like killing two birds with one stone because they would just remove them after they get my twins out. I’m just terrified and don’t know what to do.

Wow that's a lot to think about ! Personally if I were in your shoes I'd rather do the elective c section. I'd feel more in control and better prepared. And like you said since you are planning on getting your tubes removed it'd be easier I'd imagine?

I’m having an elective c section as my first was an emergency one. Honestly it was a huge relief and the recovery wasn’t so bad at all. It was just hard not being able to walk my dogs but that was really the only burden. If I were in your shoes I would opt for the c section as well. Plus with a tubal litigation it would be nice having it all done at once

@Ashley thank you, could you tell me your experience with the healing? Was it hard to move around or hold your baby? Do you have a high pain tolerance?

@Theodora I’m just so scared thinking about the recovery and honestly just being cut open it freaks me out but I feel like it would be easier since I am getting my tubes removed I just keep going back and forth because the c-section is just so intimidating to me

I get that!! I just think you could mentally prepare better if you plan for one. I haven't had one so I can't comment. But there's a lot of videos on YouTube of moms talking about their experiences. Maybe that'll help you ? You could also talk to your doctor and maybe they can talk you through it all.

I thought I had a high pain tolerance because I’ve had many piercings and no problems but as soon as I was induced and having contractions 3 days straight with no dilation I realized I am not lol that was soo painful. Healing wasn’t bad at all, prescribed OxyContin for the first 7 days, low dose. I really didn’t have any pain with that. After that it honestly just felt like I did too many sit-ups. It was a little difficult sitting up in bed but standing was easy, lifting and holding baby was easy too. I did see a hack online about tying a couple flat sheets together and tying them to your bed frame underneath to help pull yourself up. I saw that way later but thought it was a good idea, may do that this time. At my 6 week check up my scar was pretty much all healed. My dr prescribed tretinoin since I was worried about it and after a few months of that, you couldn’t even tell there was an incision there

@Ashley thank you so much you actually eased my mind about it greatly. I don’t feel as worried about doing a c-section now thank you!

Of course! I’m happy that helped you. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out. Good luck ♥️

I wish I could have a c section because I don't want to have to go back and get tubes removed after 4 weeks. Because I plan on going back to work early as I'm the only income...
