Epidural info

For the moms that already gave birth and had the epidural, did you call triage right after you started having contractions or did you wait for the contractions to get stronger ? How was your experience?

i called triage when my contractions were close together, unbearable and regular, they actually sent me back home and wanted them more regular (i returned 4 hours later) had a epidural half way through, got to 6cm on gas and air. wasn’t easy but i was able to manage. eventually ended up stalling on 6cm and not dilating anymore for hours, so had an epidural alongside the hormone drip for the last bit, which worked a treat! couldn’t feel a single contraction after that kicked in 🤣

I got mine at 8cm. It's a process for getting the epidural done, so if you want to ease pain quickly I'd recommend getting it slightly earlier. And if you leave it until you feel desperate for it. You might be lucky, but for me, the epidural didn't even work

I waited until I couldn't cope anymore with the pain, begged for the epidural. The doctor was busy with another woman and took some times to come. When she arrived I was at 10 cm and started pushing! But this is my second, so progressed quickly.
