Planned cesarean

Hi mummas, I’m wanting to hear everyone’s stories from their planned section! I had my first last year via emergency c section and it was not a nice experience. I’m now due for my second soon and I’m considering a planned cesarean this time but still wanting to hear everyone’s experiences!

Just had mine 4 days ago and it was 10x better then my section with my daughter. She was a planned section turned into and emergency section (went into labour on my own) I liked my section with my daughter. It went really well and I had a good recovery and there were no issues. Making it to my section date this time, everything felt calmer and less rushed.

I’m following as I’ve opted for an elective section due to a really traumatic birth with my son 4 years ago. My section is in 4 weeks 4 days! 🥰

I had a c section planned but my water broke 2 weeks before. It was still a really good experience, everything went smoothly and everyone was so chill - we weren’t rushed at all :) We rocked up to the hospital and they monitored me whilst we waited briefly for my obstetrician to arrive. Once she did we went into theatre, and before I knew it I was back in the recovery ward with bub. Everyone in theatre was so calm and reassuring! Recovery wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be either as I just followed their pain medication schedule and asked for stronger meds when it was needed. Best of luck, I’m sure it’s going to go really well 😊

Pain management is the key to a great recovery! Ask for the good pain pills!! I’ve had 2 C-sections and I learned from my 1st one that pain management help A LOT.

I had an emergency section after a very long labour with my first born, I ended up completely traumatised and waited 7 years before deciding to try for another baby. Fast forward to my second pregnancy, I wanted a VBAC due to the stress I felt with my first ECS. However, baby boy was breech from 28 weeks and had no intentions of turning the rascal! I decided to plan a section, to remove the risk of an emergency arising due to his position! I had the most magical experience and I can’t stress that enough. I was a little nervous, which is totally normal! But the theatre staff and midwives put me at total ease. We had a laugh and sang along to a playlist of music I made. It was completely different to my first, and really changed my perception of sections. Recovery can be hard, but not unbearable! Stay on top of meds and just be mindful of the fact you’ve gone through major surgery. Give yourself loads of slack, you are superwoman regardless of how you bring your baby into the world

I had both an emergency and planned. Not going to say my recovery either time was the easiest, but the planned section was just so much better. It was incredibly calm, we had our wishes taken into account and just a very positive experience. I have a final baby due in January and will be opting for a planned section when I see the consultant in 2 weeks time.

I had a planned Section for my 2nd after a traumatic vaginal birth with my 1st. Personally was the best thing I could have done. Best experience, everything went smoothly and recovery was also good 😊

Mine was ok. My doctor and the team were great. But I was supposed to have my delivery on Monday, but due to some bureaucracy with the hospital, it something with my doctor’s assistant, I gave birth the next day. I wasn’t tolerating the anesthesia so I ended up being sedated, and I didn’t get to hold my baby until 4 hours after she was born 😞

Mine went great ! I had an emergency csection with my son and it was so traumatizing. Then I got pregnant with my daughter and I planned a csection with her. I went in at 5am, filled out paperwork, got my stuff set up in my room how I wanted, then they started my IV in my hand, “cleaned” my body with wipes and that’s it. Took me to the OR room at 7:30 and I was done and back in my room with my babygirl by 7:52!! I’m now 3mo pp and my incision healed great and I’ve had no problems. If you had a csection last year I wouldn’t recommend you push as you could hemorrhage. Csection would be best. Good luck mama ! 🩷🩷🩷

I had a planned c section with my first and it was great. I’m having my second in December also a planned c section with the same doctor so I’m expecting it to be a similar experience. Planned sections are a lot different then emergencies because you get to pick the day and your scheduled in for a certain time and it’s not rushed. My recovery wasn’t too bad either, I was back to normal a week pp

My planned C-section was amazing!! Was painless and only hurt to get out of bed for the first few days. I showered by myself at the hospital, my husband helped me at home for 2 days but after that was doing it by myself! Was discharged from hospital the day after and the same night I was already changing my baby’s nappy and clothes. I was expecting much worse but it was amazing for me !
