My LO went through a phase of crying when I left the room. We got over it by making the return fun. So I’ll play peek a boo or sing and clap. She’s still not great, I can’t be gone for long, maybe enough time for a quick wee in peace but she just stares at the door now waiting for the fun return rather than screaming
There isn't much it's one of those phases. My lo is similar have you tried shorter periods than 20 minutes? Sometimes my mum will just hold her for a minute or two so lots of short periods. I also find if she doesn't see me go it's easier due to her understanding of object permanence at the moment (I know some people advise against this but once she understands more I'll deal with it differently. It's tricky going back to work and with my first there were tears from her (and me in the car) but she will soon adapt to it. Normally childcare providers are pretty used to settling babies in (if you are using nursery, childminder) xx
The only way for them to get over it is to keep doing it unfortunately. Keep doing what you are doing xx
