C section advice

Seems to vary hospital to hospital. I booked my date for it at my 20 weeks scan but I’ve seen lots of people wore their hospital giving them very little notice

Yeah I think it does vary which is so strange you’d think they’d just have a standard procedure! Ahh well

I've booked mine at my 32 week scan, for 39+5

I’ve been told I may only be told 24 hours before which isn’t helping my anxiety.

Book between week 34-36 for me but it’s different everywhere

Mine was booked when I was 34 weeks, along with my pre-op etc.

Your hospital will most like have set days they do elective. They'll be able to tell you that at least so you'll know it'll be one of those days in your 39th week. Unless you are booked in for an early section.

Yep mine said it will be in week 39 but they'll just call me a few days before to tell me which day.

@Molly it would definitely be more than 24hrs as you'll have to have a pre op appointment the day before

I told them I wanted a cesarean when I was at week 32 and by the next day I was given the date 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeh it’s annoying tbh, this is my second section so it doesn’t change either 🤦🏻‍♀️ back when I was 12 weeks I signed the consent form and she told me someone would ring me in the 38th week and the date would be the week after in the 39th week 🤣 so a week to prep childcare etc which I guess is fine it’s just all so last min which I understand 😂 xx

With my first section last year I found out 2 weeks before but this time round I’m due a section sometime next week and still haven’t had a phone call. It varies depending on hospital I believe and also how many electives they do. X

@Molly oh wow they told me I need a pre op 72 hours before hand…this is my first section I’ve got GD and baby is off 99th percentile, I had a third degree tear last time so no chance im risking a vaginal birth with a huge baby. I also have such bad anxiety…I’m just thinking that this time next month I’ll have my baby here and that’s what is keeping me going. Fingers crossed we do get dates at least the week before! Xx

Mine was booked in at 34 weeks appointment

I was sent a text a week before confirming mine!

I received my appointment for the Section & Pre-Op only two days ago 38+5 🥲) Only to find out I’m booked in at 39+6.

I would say try to expect it no earlier than 39 weeks unless there are any known complications. I received my c section date about 2 weeks before
