Keep on top of the meds, make sure you are moving around frequently even if a little painful, avoid sitting on anything too hard and have a pillow at hand to press against your tummy if you cough or sneeze. Also, no quick sharp movements just take it slow
Night 3 was my worst night and after that it got a lot easier. Stay on top of painkillers and take them on a schedule. Move around when you can- I was told the more active I was (small walks down the road, walking around the house, etc), the easier my recovery would be. By the end of week 1 I felt almost normal with a bit of soreness and I’m at 3 weeks post op today and I feel totally back to normal (minus the core strength). You got this!
Meds every 4 hours. Keep moving a little. Don’t use bottom drawers - have items at waist height.
Peppermint oil if you’re bloated!
I took painkillers the doctor gave me every 6 hours and paracetamol every 3 hours. Or if I forgot to take it then I would make sure to take half an hour before having a shower etc. Always helps to have support at home too!
I used paracetamol and ibuprofen as often as I could. I’m a single parent so I made sure I stocked up as getting out was difficult. To be honest, I kept myself really busy and got on with everything. I had to do the hoover etc and started driving after a couple of weeks as I didn’t have much choice but luckily everything was fine and it healed really quick.
Keep up the pain killers & take it easy, let the wound breathe when you can. After 6 weeks you can get a silicone strip to help it heal on the outside too x
