Postpartum depression

Is anyone else really struggling with this? I had my second baby nearly 7 months ago and I’m really struggling this time. I truly believe I had it the first time round with my first boy but I just ignored it.

I didn’t suffer but I’m sorry that you are! Please make sure you’re speaking to your close ones about it and telling your GP and HV. There’s info here about help and support - https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/post-natal-depression/overview/ ❤️

I did with my first and probably second. It’s really hard to deal with so ask for help if you can. Also feel free to message me x

My HV referred me to Silver Birch, they are pre & postnatal therapists. I had 1 to 1 therapy for a few months and although it isn’t a miracle cure, I really looked forward to the weekly sessions where I didn’t have to put a brave face on. Hope you’re ok x

You can self refer for counselling at Everyturn.org. I'm pretty sure a parent with child under 2 is seen as a priority so not too long to wait.

Do a self referral to mums matter https://wirralmind.org.uk/services/mums-matter/ Or ask your GP to refer you. They have another course starting in the next few weeks. Also, they offer a crèche service if you don’t have anyone to look after the babies x

Thank you so much to everyone who replied and messaged! I’m getting myself together and feeling more normal with some help from every turn! They’ve been amazing so far! ❤️
