I think my bleeding stopped around week 4-5 which is when my headaches also seemed to subside and then my stitches stopped hurting at around week 8 xx
How was your birth? With my first baby I had a bit of a traumatic time - 48 hour labour, epidural, episiotomy and instrumental delivery. I felt like I’d been hit by a truck and the first week was horrific. I hadn’t slept for days, was obviously sore and I felt unwell, no appetite and nausea etc. I think I started to feel a little better after a couple of weeks, although I still struggled with the effects of sleep deprivation for months 😢 Have you been checked for an infection? Some night sweats are normal due to hormones but if you’re getting a fever and are unwell it could be an infection x
I'm currently 5 weeks pp and I was/still am feeling about 90% healed and had a second degree tear. I stopped wearing pads about a week ago
@Jessica on paper it was a pretty perfect birth.. from first contraction to baby being born was no longer than 3 hours, think they wrote 2 hours 27 minutes on my discharge notes. No pain relief (trust me I wanted it but couldn’t get to labour ward in time to get it 🤣🥲). Only one first degree tear on the labia that was more cosmetic than anything and only needed 4 stitches. I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and I’ve been put on labetalol for high blood pressure which I think explains most of my symptoms. I’ve had my stitches checked and they’re clear of infection but I think if the symptoms get any worse I’ll definitely get checked over again just in case. It’s just the soreness and feeling a bit woozy I’m struggling with the most, they never told me how long I should expect to bleed for or anything either so just a bit in the dark 🥲
Had a episiotomy equal to almost a 4th degree and forceps, hormones were up and down and I was a MESS. Baby blues hit really bad after one week but went away around week 3, and around week 5/6 I was feeling more like myself. Bad Bleeding stopped around week 2 but spotted on/off until week 4. Night sweats can be normal but I would deff check for infection, you’re only a week PP so your cervix is still quite open and prone to getting bacteria in no matter how safe you are!
About 5 weeks for me x
