What should I do?

Baby is 5 months, her bouncer goes up to 6months or 20kg which she is coming up too. She loves playing with her toys in her bouncer and means I can grab some lunch, wash dishes/bottles or do the laundry etc (shes probably in it for it minutes max every 3 hours) I also like her sitting in it while we chat, sing songs, look at books together. We are working on sitting, she's not there yet but hopefully she'll be able to sit independently in the coming months. Should I invest in another bouncer (£200) Or just get the mamas and papas 3 in 1 floor seat instead (£100) as she'll be weaning soon so will need it for feeding soon anyway. Anyone that has the seat is it handy for keeping them happy and occupied while you get on with chores?

Is your baby 20kg? If not, I’d keep it as I wouldn’t say the age is relevant to the bouncer xx

Are you sure it's 20kg? 20kg is over 40 pounds. 50th centile weight for a 6 month old is around 7 to 8 kg. So it could last longer if the weight limit is 20kg? That aside we have the nuna leaf, it's not a bouncer, it's more of a swinging seat and the weight limit on that is 60kg - even my 12 year old can sit in it. So it's suitable from birth as a baby swing right through childhood as a cosy chair to sit and read in etc. I did get it because of the insane weight limit as I like the thought that she can use it for a really long time in a variety of ways. We also have the snug floor seat (not the 3in1 but similar) and it's great for sitting up and has them using all those sitting up muscles but it's not something they can really relax in if you're looking for somewhere they can spend time chilling out. So I'd say the two things probably have different uses. We use the nuna for relaxing in and the floor seat for sit up play and a bit of weaning. X

I couldn’t recommend enough the inflatable chairs!! They do just the same job and are literally £10! And go up to 3 years lol so won’t have to worry about the weight my baby looooves his!

I wouldn’t be worried about it until she can sit up unaided as she could probably figure a way out of it then. At that point you could just get a play pen or put her in a high chair with toys when you’re eating etc. x

@Laura sorry got the weight limit completely wrong! It goes up to 9kg so just under 20lbs

@Lisa thanks for your comment :) Your experience of the floor seat not being a place to chill in is really useful as I'd definitely still want her to be comfortable when she's just chilling and watching us get on with things. I got the weight limit completely wrong sorry! Its 9kg so just under 20lbs. My little one is currently 17lbs so just under 8kg at the minute so its getting close x

@Jade ive heard a lot of good things about these inflatable chairs! But would you say they secure enough to stop baby falling out of them? My little one still doesn't have very good core muscles yet and flops forwards a lot so I'd be worried she could tale a tumble x

My little one can’t sit up on his own and I know a lot of my friends have them and their babies are younger like 3 months old, it says from 0months so it should be okay! X

It has like a little dip in it where they sit so I think that’s how they don’t fall forwards x
