Post birth Hospital stay

Silly question, but how much support is there for taking care of the baby the night or 2 after giving birth at the hospital? Who changes diapers, does feeding (if not breastfeeding), quiets baby if crying, do midwives help with this or is it all on the parents? I’m wondering if we should plan on leaving the hospital as soon as we are allowed or if the extra support is worth an extra day in the hospital. TY.

In my experience, myself and my partner took care of the baby for the 4 days I was at lady Mary ward. Midwives only helped if I called them and asked for help with something.

Same. Myself and my partner looked after the baby with no support from midwives. I was lucky enough to not need support so not sure what you get if you ask for it.

Me and my partner look after our little girl. I was in for 3 nights. Midwives would help if needed tho xxx

Me and my partner did most, but as I had a c-section I did need extra help when he went home for a few hours each day. The midwives helped whenever I pressed the button and needed it. They also took LO to nurses station when partner helped me to shower, and on the last night when my partner slept at home for the night and they knocked me out with morphine (slept for 6 hrs) they took care of LO for me x

I should say was in 5 days (Mon AM To Fri PM) x
