Pregnancy thrush

Hi Ive just been prescribed pessary for thrush. Doctors said don’t put the applicator as far as usual. First night didn’t do it far enough and it came out. Done it further tonight but on Google that you should not use the applicator ?!? Have you and has everything been ok

Midwife told me not too and the same happened to me, then asked my consultant the next day and she said it was fine just be mindful xx

I’ve been told to use a pessary and they didn’t say anything about the applicator. What’s the reason? Are you pregnant or recently PP? I’m 39 weeks if that makes a difference but I was concerned about using it so close to birth potentially x

I’m not sure of the reason, maybe incase it irritates the cervix?, the doctors said to not put it a far as you usually would to me x

I’m currently pregnant , I had a Google and it does say to avoid “damage” to cervix

@Chloe interesting! I did ask the midwife specifically and they assured me all fine however it made sense to be careful. I was also worried if there’s a risk my waters break (any day now) could that cause any ‘cross contamination’ might be silly but definitely makes sense to be careful x
