I prepped one
If you do a birth plan, make sure your hospital actually sticks to it and does what YOU want. A lot of hospitals will disregard your birth plans. I went with the flow for my son
i’m doing a birth plan
I have a birth preferences sheet that includes my goals for active labor (movement/different positions, intermittent monitoring, food/drink, only necessary personnel, shower/tub hydrotherapy), pushing/delivery (urge to push vs coached pushing, birth in any position), and immediately postpartum (skin to skin, delayed cord clamping, delayed bath). In the event of a hospital transfer (as of now, I’m set to deliver at a birth center), then it also includes my wishes around cervical checks (no more frequently than once an hour), medications/interventions, who’s to stay with baby if baby needs to transfer to nicu, etc.
Going with the flow like I did with my first L&D. I knew I wanted an epidural and that I was to be induced, but I found going with the flow was better for me personally.
Birth plan BUT I'm likely to do a home birth
Going with the flow, birth is so unpredictable! I’m hoping and praying for the best 🙏🏼
I had preferences that I spoke with the nurses about at the hospital with my first. But, I was mostly go with the flow. I was being induced so really anything could (and did) happen. This time I’ll be having a planned c-section. I think I’ll write one out with preferences. I want skin to skin in the or Breast feed asap Daddy to announce gender Daddy to cut cord Those are the biggest ones for me at the moment.
I’m just going to pretty much go with the flow. Except for my main thing which is no induction. I want to go full term and go into labor naturally.
Go with the flow, honestly. I did the same with my first and will be doing the same with this pregnancy.
