Public vs private

Does anyone else think about the intangibles that you gain from attending public schools? i feel like i only hear about the negative side of the public schools system. People rant and rave about private or charter schools but i think there’s so much to be gained from a public school beyond the scope of intellectual education that people don’t factor in. Trust and believe me when i say I can understand the want for your children to attend a private school but I think a child can be just as successful going to a public school. Thoughts?

i went to a charter school until 11th grade. it was amazing, i loved it. however my mental health got way worse in 11th grade so for my senior year i decided to go to public school. best decision ever!! both types of schools have different benefits for different children. i would’ve hated public school every year except my senior year, but that’s just me personally. public school kids can still be successful:)

I’ve had bad experiences putting my son in 2 different catholic schools. He’s now in public and he is doing amazing. I also work in a catholic school now (I didn’t plan it this way just happened) and I’d personally never send my kid after being on the inside. I’ve also been on the inside of public school as an intern and seen things I didn’t like. There’s pros and cons to both and what will work for your kid. Idk anything about charter schools tho

I never want my kids in a private school. It would be a disservice to them as students with IEPs.
