@Cesca the doctor told me it would take months before they could actually give me the prescription x
@Cesca my mum had the same issue with my little sister last year, they wouldn’t give the prescription in time so mum always ran out before it was renewed so just started buying it
Go back to your GP and tell them you want the prescription as they have to prescribe special milk I had this with my 11yr old and now 17m old, she's just recently stopped having the formula a few weeks ago
But yes the csa have to tell the father you've applied for child support so they can dispute parentage and do dna test if necessary
@Heather can he dispute parentage if he’s on her birth certificate?
They do inform the other parent. Paternity is not an issues unless the other parent states otherwise. Please bear in mind it takes months to set up and your partner will have to pay you directly. If he chooses not to pay you then they will set up a deduction of earnings order through his employer which will take a further few months to set up. He will get 20% added on top for a collection fee which goes straight to CM for using the service and you get 4% deducted. It took me 7 months from applying to getting a payment from his employer. The missed payments in the mean time will be added to arrears which can be paid back in as little as pounds a month depending on his earnings. The whole things ridiculous but I would advise setting it up now if you’re serious about it. Or maybe mentioning this to him that he will be even more out of pocket
Yes he can and they will do a dna test If he refuses to do the test they will presume he's the father regardless as he's had a chance to dispute it and do the test
Your partner? Are you still together? You can definitely get your milk on prescription and tell the gp how many tins you require for a months supply and then just renew a week before you run out
@Sara yes my partner, he doesn’t contribute whatsoever, I’m paying £200 a month for gas & electric because he turn everything on and leaves it constantly. I pay all the bills, I provide everything for our child but I’m on benefits due to a physical disability & now having a child. He gets triple the money I get. I’m sick of my £500 being all 3 of our money but his money being all his.
Someone can correct me but I think you have to be split to claim money from him. I’d sit him down and have a chat to him and say you can’t afford to fund him so he has to start helping
@Sara he knows I can’t afford it in my own. You have to be living separately which we are, he stays a Saturday night and occasionally a Friday
You need to point out to him that this is financial abuse and his son is also his responsibility to provide for
The government website states you have to be separated. You need to tell him again how important it is and how much your child is going without because he is not helping. You also need to go back to your GP for formula. You definitely get it for free.
@Heather I’ve made our daughter a savings account so we can both put money into it. I said for him to give me £150 and put £100 into her savings and he refused. He has no bills other than his phone to pay. I’m not allowed to do anything with her without him either. I wanted to go away on holiday next year with my mum and younger sister. He told me no because he has to be there(he was invited and said no) then he said he wants to be the one to pay for all her first experiences but won’t put his hand in his pocket

But also, can you see a benefits advisor? Because if you only get £500 whilst having a child and a home and not working that can’t possibly be the correct amount x
Are you living together? What he's doing is abuse, he can't tell you you can't do anything with your children, that's no way to live!
@Sara the standard allowance is £311, and the child element is £287, but £90 is automatically taken from my uc for tax. I’m still having my application for child benefit processed which will be £102 extra a month
Honestly, walk away. Claim the CSA and take your child on holiday! This is no way to be treat. He is manipulating you
£90 is taken for tax? Is it a repayment for tax credits or something as you shouldn't be paying tax on uc if that'd your only income
@Heather I thought that too but I was told where I live I have to pay x
No that's wrong If you want to message me I can try and help you sort it hun and will be in total confidence re your situation x
