Waters breaking
Anyone had their waters break naturally? I woke up this morning with a light gush of fluid and my bump feels really squished. I’m being seen at my local hospital at 3:30pm. What’s the protocol if my waters have gone? I’m so in the dark about this

With my first my waters broke, for me it was undeniable as they continued to leak constantly. I called up, they asked me to put on a pad and went in for them to check the pad (for meconium) and do my obs. I was told to go home and labour at home, if my contractions did not start after 24 hours I was advised they would recommend an induction
Mine went bit by bit in the middle of the night. Started as a light trickle. I went in, they did my obs and it turned out I was 9cm dilated so had been on labour without even realising! I had my son 9 hours later! X

If you are gping for a natural birth, you will not need to stay in hospital until your contractions start. If nothing happens in 24 hrs , they may want you in to monitor baby
