Following - may I ask though what week (in your pregnancy) you're having this appointment? And do you have a date set yet (if yes, at what point was your date conformed)? Thanks and good luck 💛

@Luci im 32 weeks tomorrow, and my consultant appointment is a telephone call🙄 my midwife told me that my trust don’t give c section dates out till the week before which I’m nervous about, going to try and push hard for a date though, don’t ask don’t get I suppose xx

I’ve got my appointment on Thursday this week also at 32 weeks. My trust do give dates out reluctantly so my midwife has told me to push for it so I intend to do just that as part of my reasons for requesting an elective is mental health so knowing a date will really help out some anxiety to bed - good luck on Wednesday!! X

@Lizzie thanks! My reasoning is health anxiety and just personal choice but not knowing a date will definitley make my anxiety worse, especially being due Christmas Eve I just want to know it will be done before Xmas! X

They normally schedule elective sections in the 39th week.

I had my appointment today. The cover a lot of topics and precautions so I don’t think you need to ask many questions. What I would say is though, I felt very judged so please don’t let them bully you into a vaginal birth as I think that’s what they want (my hospital might be different though) a lot of questions I asked though were responded with ‘they will tell you when they ring you to tell you the date’. I’m not sure if that helps xxx

I have been told I need to make a decision by my 36 week appointment, if I choose c Section then they will book me in there and then and give me a date no earlier than 39 weeks. My consultant was actually very pro elective C Section, I have GD so I would have been induced at 39 weeks most likely as I'm on tablets, I didn't feel judged by my consultant, she essentially said VBAC has the least risks but planned C Section is less risk than an emergency one. My consultant told me loads and gave me a website to read up on, this is my first so please don't think I have loads of knowledge, always best to do your own research. Xx

@Katie I wish I had your consultant 😭 it’s even made me more anxious than I was before! C

@Alice 100% mine is health anxiety too and generally not being in control of natural birth not that it matters what any woman’s reason is as it’s a choice and a right to choose! Yeah not having a date this week will majorly stress me out too I’m due Xmas day haha x

@Emily just remember it's your choice at the end of the day! They can say what they want but only you know what is the right option for you x

I had my consultant appointment yesterday and asked for a date and got one straight away 🥰 so deffo worth asking. My midwife told me they can’t give them yet so that’s not true 😂 my consultant did try to persuade me to think about a natural birth if I go into labour before the section date. 🙈 so a lot to think about xx
