Anyone from London? Need tube advice

So I need to be in London on Thursday. Plan to drive to Stanmore and take the tube from there. My question is, how does it work with babies and pushchairs?? 😅 and how will I know I'm taking the correct way tube? I need to go to the Polish embassy, so I figured I need to take Jubilee and change onto Bakerloo to finish at Regents Park. Please, someone tell me if I'm correct. 😅 and how do I buy tickets???

Babies go free. There is a map that shows accessibility - scroll down this page and you’ll see step free map https://tfl.gov.uk/transport-accessibility/wheelchair-access-and-avoiding-stairs. Sometimes strangers can help you if there are no lifts and there are stairs but I wouldn’t count on it. Babywearing is another option but it’s not for everyone

@Alisa thank you. I'm,not worried about that as I will have my friend with me. It's more about how it all works? Only used tube once in 2017 and with someone who knows what to do

I’d probably go to elstree and borehamwood and go directly to city thameslink station. Oh, I’ve just seen you’re from Peterborough. It’s a long train but the thameslink link goes straight from Peterborough to city thameslink. City thameslink is accessible with lifts

Citymapper is a free app that tells you exactly how to get from a to b on the tube (as well as other methods like bus) and you can toggle to the ‘step free’ route so it’ll only show stations and interchanges that have lifts. If there’s no lift your friend will have to help you with escalators and stairs. Go on to the carriages that have a disabled sticker on so you can push the pram up against a free space but also sit down near the baby. If it’s crowded politely ask people to move as a lot of people don’t get it in London 😅 You’ll know which way to travel on the tube as it’ll either way ‘eastbound/wetsbound’ or ‘north/south’ depending on the line, as well as a list of stations going that direction. When you’re on the platform you know which way you’re headed as the destination will have the end of the line. So if you’re going east on the jubilee line it’ll say Stratford.

You don’t buy a ticket, you simply tap a credit or debit card when you enter and exit. It’s literally the same fare as buying a physical ticket

Oh sorry, just realised I was looking at the wrong place for the polish embassy 🫣 In which case, I’d still get the thameslink line to Farringdon, really easy to change to Liz line and get to Bond Street. It will be a 10 min walk from there but both those lines are good for pushchairs.

@Rosie thameslink single ticket is 35 pounds. It will be cheaper for me to drive to the car park
