I had a planned section for my twins but it turned into an emergency as they came a couple of days before the planned date. We got our date booked in 2 weeks beforehand (although I’m not sure if it’s different for a single non-complicated pregnancy). I had the loveliest experience ! I was terrified of surgery but everyone in theatre was so kind and totally put me at ease. Really really lovely doctors who could tell how scared I was! We got to put music on and make the room as calm as possible which was really lovely ☺️
i had a planned c section and i was given the date less than two weeks before. First you go in for an appointment with the anaesthetist to ask any questions etc. Morning of the op you will probably be called in for seven am and then given an order depending on why you’re having a section. as a high risk pregnancy i was first but bumped to second when an emergency came in. in the wait time you are checked over, i also had a scan to check baby’s position. You are given a gown to change into in the ward and you need to also bring your bits for the baby down to theatre, nappy and outfit. Two nurses came to collect me with my bed, i decided to walk as was so nervous. Everyone in the theatre was really friendly and answered all my questions and reassured me. it was a very relaxed atmosphere. afterwards you are taken into recovery before heading back to the ward. Having baby number 2 there in a few months :)
34 weeks Went in today and was told they would probably book me in around 39 weeks but will know actual date around a week or so before. Made me very anxious . Cried my eyes out but what can I do
I didn’t have a planned c section but I did have a planned induction and I was only given a set date 3 weeks before hand ended up having an emergency section and everyone in theatre was so lovely!! I was absolutely shitting myself (I was literally shaking) and one of the guys that was in there was making me laugh ect, my partner was still getting his scrubs on while I was getting the spinal block and one of the midwives held my hand as I was so scared (I’d never had any sort if numbing (apart from a tooth being pulled out😂🙈) let alone such a major surgery! I’m so grateful everyone on the room was so lovely! Also just wanted to add before I went in I told them I don’t want to see anything that they’ll be using as I know that would’ve scared me even more! So they just kept eye contact with me while others where prepping everything xx
