I rang when I got to 3 in 10, but I had my baby 1 hour later in hospital so if you feel it is intense already and you might have your baby quickly, I'd go in anyway!
oh just to add onto what tanya said too - maybe just going in would be for the best as i tried ringing up and they told me to stay home and have paracetamol, but i knew i would be having my baby quite soon so went in anyway xx
My contractions started 10 minutes apart and I phoned up when they were 5 minutes apart for an hour 🫶🏼 I went in and was onlt 2cm dilated and ended up being in Labour for 41 hours! Every Labour is different just listen to your gut xx
I rang labour when I hit transition with my second as that is the point I went “oh fuck this hurts” I wasn’t tracking my contractions so I have no idea how far apart they were but it wasn’t a consistent pattern. Called at midnight woke husband and MIL (child care she lives an hour away) made it to the hospital by 2 am was already pushing. Had baby at 2:19. As the OG post was 3 hours ago I assume you’ve made it to hospital. Hope all is well and you have your baby soon if not already 🥰.
Well my waters ended up going at 12.30pm, I made it to the hospital at 1.30pm and gave birth at 2.21pm. Just shows can't always time contractions as mine were still not consistent but just alot stronger! Xx
congrats on the birth! good job you got there when you did xx
with my second baby i rang and went in when my contractions were between every 4 and 6 minutes, my midwife told me with a second baby to not really listen to the 3 in 10 rule and to focus on the intensity instead, so if they feel intense i'd ring up. when i arrived at hospital i was 6cm dilated and they were still about every 5 minutes apart. my labour was how you said, everything happened really quickly - from first contraction to baby being born was pretty much exactly 5 hours! good luck xx
