I think as long as your comfortable with taking bubba in there shouldn't be a problem x
I’ve never been in that situation but I’d probably go alone a few times just to get the lay of the place and procedures. My dad was in jail for a bit when I was little and my mom was adamant about not letting me go. She had her reasons
Call the prison, & find out. They’ll advise when best to bring baby in. Do expect, however for baby to be thoroughly searched, along with any other accessories you bring that baby may need during the visit.
Prison is not a place for baby. You can check with the prison itself if baby is even allowed in.
@Barbara I mean I don’t really think your comment is helpful. Of course babies are allowed in. The parents can choose whether this is an environment they want their child in but if the dad is about to do a few years behind bars it’s more than likely the child will be visiting him. @Miriam 🤎 I’ve been on visits before with an ex and seen plenty of newborns. I even saw one having their first visit with dad at 3 weeks old.
@Barbara Women offenders have babies in prison 🤷🏽♀️. Here in the UK, there’s a female estate that has a specific wing for women who’ve given birth whilst in custody. Not ideal, no, but babies are & have been in prisons before. It’s not a new thing. So visiting, is allowed, just expect baby to have a very thorough security search.
I know nothing of jails/prisons really but isn't there a program in jails/prisons where they have family/play days? That might be less daunting and challenging and more enjoyable for you all if it turns out his jail has one.
I would personally wait until first vaccines to be safe, but it’s when you are comfortable at the end of the day.
Thank you everyone trust the last place I want to take my baby is to a prison visit but sometimes things happen and yeah it’s unfortunate but I appreciate all the comments 🩷
As soon as you’re happy to, I think!
