What should I be eating to help the post c section pooping be easier?

I definitely feel like I need to go but I sit on the toilet for 20 minutes and get nothing or the smallest amount out?

There is something in uk called califig which is a concentrated prune syrup to help you go Xx

Prunes and blueberries help! And I’ve heard peppermint tea helps with any trapped wind!

Prunes and peppermint tea

Deffinately have fibre, fresh oranges and orange juice. Just don’t force when needing to go, rock back and fourth when you do need to go this helped me loads! X

Magnesium can help like the CALM drink

Laxatives is the only way I could go. Lactulose (liquid form) and Senokot, plus lots of peppermint tea

And like Lucy said, don’t force it. I did, and was left very sore and in pain for ages afterwards!

Didn’t u guys get given sort of laxatives? I did when I had a c-section automatically

@Emily ya they gave me a stool softener to take once a day just wanted to get other options as well diet suggestions

@Hope aah okay, what about spicy foods? They normally put me on the toilet 😅

There was this one concoction with my first C-section I drank and it helped me go the next day. I still did stool softeners too including this concoction below. Black tea Prune juice Splash of orange juice for flavor. Not the best tasting thing. It was ok for what it was for though. But I just thought of the relief from not pooping for 3 days. So I drank it. And then next day is when we came home and I was able to go. I will probably try and drink it after I have my last one in March, as it’ll be a reminder to my emergency C-section with our daughter in 2019.

Peppermint oil capsules

I sent my husband up to the chemist and he came back with some sort of syrupy sweet liquid. A shot of that sorted me right out within a few hours 🤣 Don't know what it's called but I'm sure they'll be able to give you something similar

My mum made me a big vegetable dinner and I went no problem. Everyone scared me with how painful it would be and it wasn't.

Prune juice and milk of mag.

Lactulose and prune or lots of fruit will help you go too

Apple juice, I drank a carton a day and by day 3 I’d gone and was back to normal!! X

Make sure you are drinking loads of water and plenty of fruit and veg raw ideally. It took a few days for my first one which was hell even in laxatives but after that it gets much easier don't worry
