The first school term date after they turn 3.
You should create a childcare account through gov https://www.gov.uk/sign-in-childcare-account
@Aimi thank you! Was it always starting in September? I swear it was meant to be earlier next year? X
30 hours term time only from the term after they turn 3 is available now 15 hours term time only is available the term after they turn 9 months 30 hours should start next September for 9 months + again term time only
Yeah think it was always sept! Also, if you need year round care, it goes to 22.5 hours free a week I think? So still possibility to use it spread over rather than all in term time :)
Ok, so we’ve found this confusing too. Our little girl is starting nursery in May and she will be just 9 months old and we understand we won’t get funding until the September but will it be 15 or 30 hours? Thats the bit we’re struggling with x
Vicki it'll be 15 hours from September 2024 and 30 from September 2025 ( term time only). Reason you won't get until Sept 2024 is because it starts the term after their first birthday x
Hi Jen, so she’s starting in May 2025 so I’m guessing we claim the 30 hours from Sept 2025 and miss out on the 15 due to the timing on when she goes to nursery xx
@Vicki Inglis this would be true yeah As the term after she turns 9 months will be the September she will get the 30 hours from next September! If she was 9 months in March say you’d have qualified for the summer term at 15 hours but due to her birthday you sadly don’t!
Thank you, really appreciate it xx
30hours for 3 year olds is already on play, 30 hours for all from 9 months is next Sept, however you should be entitled to 11 hours free right now, which came in to effect this September
