That’s great thank you actually makes me feel a bit better about it ☺️glad to hear you had a good recovery from it
Out of friends who had c sections, they had a much easier/better recovery than those who had vaginal births.
My friend who gave birth naturally was in hospital for 4 days. I was out within 24 hours with both my c-sections. I also only took 2 weeks to feel back to normal. Honestly, every experience regardless of what option is chosen is scary but personally both mine were positive experiences xx
I had an induction at 39 weeks due to multiple occasions of reduced movements which ended in an emergency c-section. Personally I wish I opted for a c-section from the start as it went 100x better than I thought it would and the recovery was so quick! I was out of hospital after 29 hours and was moving around from day 1. I also went on a walk on day 4. Of course you can’t overdo it but I moved around slowly and also requested codeine to take home from hospital but I only had it a few times once home
Hi 👋🏽 so I was soooo adamant that I didn’t want a c section just because of the fear of recovery, pain afterwards etc and always hoped it wouldn’t come to that but after a long 28 hours of labour I ended up having an emergency c section anyway! But honestly it’s not as bad as you may think, the first 2/3 days were the hardest but they give you painkillers to help with the pain and by day 5/6 I felt a lot better and was able to look after baby even on my own and slowly get about. And before you know it you feel a lot better in the next couple of weeks. After going through it myself now, it’s not as bad as you may think
Same as others, really wanted to avoid it and ended up with an emergency one. Now, I'm sure it depends on each individual case, as it's still surgery and there are always risks of complications. That said, it was a lot better than I thought. First few days were hard, but after the first week it's a lot better and at least I'm glad I don't have pain down there 😅
I’ve had a c section and a vaginal birth and my c section recovery was a lot more challenging and took about 6 weeks to feel back to normal. With my vaginal birth I’m 2 days postpartum and feeling great. It is major surgery so it isn’t easy. However I always always tell women to mentally prepare themselves for a c section, you can be as adamant as you want that you don’t want one but about 30% of labouring mothers end up needing a c-section anyway!
I've had both a vaginal birth and a section and I'd pick my section over my vaginal. I had a horrible experience with my vaginal and my recovery ended up just as long as it was with my section difference being I was prepared that I'd have a recovery with my section and knew I would need time.
Even if you didn’t have transverse and low lying placenta, birth is so unpredictable. Baby is still moving all about so I would assume baby will be head down by 36 weeks as babies typically go head down at like week 32. I have had both section and vaginal and in my opinion vaginal was way better and easier recovery. So it also is so dependent on the person. I will say it’s harder to do vaginally after C-section so consider that. Plus just get the epidural as in a C-section you would have to get spinal block anyway.
I was adamant about avoiding a c-section for the recovery but had to have an emergency one in the end and I can honestly say it's nothing to be fearful of (and I'm a wuss!) - yes the first few days feel really strange and you walk around holding your stomach but you're in the hospital for a few days anyway and you can always ask for stronger painkillers if needed. I felt 80% better by day 5 and 100% by the 3rd week. It was actually quite nice to have an excuse (other than baby) to chill out and not overdo it. The bleeding was minimal too which was nice not to have to worry about
