Would you hire this nanny?

Looking for a nanny for an infant. This nanny agreed to do a trial run for a week. One of the things she does which concerns me is, when the baby moves to a different place on the play mat, and if the baby is unreachable, she pulls the baby closer to her by just pulling at the leg when the baby is on his back. I wouldn't do that to an infant. I wonder if on trial she does that, what will she do when we aren't around.

If you have concerns now then don’t hire her. If this is a trial then this is the best she’s going to do. If this is your only concern about her, then speak with her and see how she responds.

She shouldn't be doing that

It really depends. I do and have done this…but how and what surface makes a huge difference. If it’s a light pull on both legs on a slippery surface then it’s ok, anything else, probably not. And I wouldn’t trust anyone else but ME to do this to my child. It would be a red flag for me

have a grown up conversation ? she won't know you don't want her doing that unless you tell her

I definitely wouldn't, that isn't OK

If there's a slightest inclination of something I don't like I won't hire.

I grab my 4 month old by his legs and pull him when on a mat. Obviously not yanking him. It causes no harm.

You can ask her a normal question about it if you’re concerned.

NO

I did this with my babies. As long as they were on a surface that allowed them to slide. I would just have a chat with her.

No I would not she should be trying her best to impress you

If she is pulling her legs in front of you she is probably going to grab your kids by the arms in the air etc. why is she working in this industry

@Makayla ohh God this just happened right in front of my eyes. I just turned accidentally thinking about something from work. I saw her lifting the baby by arms!!!! Wtf!

Made my decision easier. Asked her to leave.

I do this to my 6 month old when we are playing.....🤷 How old is the baby?

@Rachel baby is 7m. Probably one can do it to their own baby. I wouldn't do that to someone else's baby. Just my opinion.

Oh geez yeah lifting someone else's kid by the arms is a huge no. It's one thing if you're doing it because you know your own child and what they are used to and can handle. It's another thing entirely if you're about to be paid to nurture and care for someone's most precious person. I toss my 9 month old (lightly) in the air, but I wouldn't be caught dead tossing up someone else's kid.
