Induction Experience

I wanna know everyone’s experience with getting an induction. And what they actually did like the ballon or just meds? And how long it took? Also side effects after like bleeding and stuff? Very nervous i have 1 scheduled but it was self elected and i might cancel it. Currently 40weeks 2 days

I had a really good experience being induced, they started by inserting cervidil for 12 hours then I rested for a few to see how I progressed and they gave me cytotec around 0230 am by 430 I was almost fully dilated my water broke contractions started I got a epidural they let me labor him down while I slept till around 830 started practice pushing then to bring him down the rest of the way 930 doc checked me and then started pushing for real and he was born at 0950 they started pitocin around 945 to help with shrinking my uterus after he was born but I didn't need the pitocin for contractions

I had good experience my first wasn’t because I didn’t know much at all I went into labor thinking it was going to be a breeze no prep no nothing but all my other induction where beautiful and fast

I was already at 2cm so they started with the ballon/bulb. That got me to 5cm after just 3 hours and I was dilated enough that it popped out on its own. My water was already pooling out so they decided to break it and started me on Pitocin. I dilated up to 6cm and fully effaced. Unfortunately, I ended up having a c-section because my son’s heartbeat would disappear every time I had a contraction and it got to a point where they could barely find it. But baby was well, it turns out that his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck so every time I had a contraction it was choking him

When I got induced i wasn’t dilated at all I was 37 weeks I got in they gave me some meds to start softening my cervix, they then inserted the ballon to get me to 2cm (it was extremely painful for me) & hopefully fall out by 4cm which didn’t happen. They then broke my water and started me on Pitocin I was on it for 3 days dilating very slowly when i finally reached 7cm after 4 days my doctor said the baby is stressed and we need to do a c section 🤦🏻‍♀️ my experience personally was traumatic and I will never ever accept an induction again but that was just my experience I’ve Hurd many positive stories you got this!!

I had a great experience with my daughter last year. They placed in the cervidil for 8hrs to soften up my cervix 45mins after removing it baby was here. It was extremely easy. No epidural no other meds. I pray this one goes just as well but I really want to go into spontaneous labor 🤞🏽
